City man who posed as cop is accused as career criminal By ALBERT McKEON, Staff Writer amckeon@nashuatelegraph.com NASHUA – Police didn't have to look far to give an accused career criminal a late Christmas gift. Last week, police caught up with Peter Gibbs, 42, of Nashua, and charged him with wielding a gun and posing as a cop as he robbed a homeowner Christmas Eve. Gibbs was in the county jail awaiting trial on charges related to another home robbery. These new charges allege that Gibbs broke into a Merrimack Street residence on the night before Christmas, armed and pretending to be a police officer, and confronted the elderly homeowner, demanding, "Where's the (expletive)" before leaving with $17,150 and a .32-caliber semi-automatic handgun and a .38-caliber revolver, according to court records.
