A network of CCTV cameras has been officially launched in a Suffolk town. The cameras will cover the leisure centre and the Spa Pavilion in Felixstowe and also the shopping area in Hamilton Road. The captured pictures will be monitored by a special volunteer team at Felixstowe police station. Suffolk Coastal Community Safety Partnership made a successful bid to the Home Office for £37,000 of funding for the cameras. Councillor Doreen Savage, chair of the Felixstowe Community CCTV Partnership, said: "This will be an important additional tool to assist local police in working to combat and prevent crime and disorder."
