Many thought a pretournament British Open favorite like Ernie Els or Sergio Garcia would be clutching the Claret Jug on Sunday evening at Royal Birkdale. But that scenario never materialized. So who was the worst, so to speak, of the best? Well Jason, it is somewhat appropriate for us to be eating our last serving of bangers and mash while we rehash the British Open. While it was a great repeat victory for Padraig Harrington and a blast from the past in Greg Norman, the big guys we might have expected to do well really didn't do a whole lot. Phil Mickelson was nowhere to be found on the leaderboard, and Ernie Els had the most misleading tie for seventh ever. And they're just two of the guys who never got it going at Royal Birkdale.
