Ansar Al Islam active on Kurdistan borders

Kurdistan Guards Forces Deputy Minister Jibar Yawer revealed that Al Qaeda Brigades in the region, part of Kurdish Ansar Al Islam Organization, are operating on Iraqi-Iranian borders in aim to destabilize security in the region. In an interview with Al Hayat Newspaper, Yawer declared that Peshmerga forces thwarted an attempt by Ansar Al Islam, Al Qaeda Brigades, to infiltrate through Iranian borders and stopped drugs smuggling attempts saying that armed clashes have erupted between security forces and Qaeda elements. Yawer clarified that gunmen have attempted to cross the borders and enter the region in aim o execute armed operations against a Kurdish border checkpoint, however, clashes between gunmen and Asayesh forces pursued for two hours and ended as gunmen flew the site.
