By Matt Barnwel - mbarnwell@macon.com The 5K run that kicked off the Bragg Jam festival in Macon this weekend was more successful than organizers had expected. Nearly 260 people showed up Saturday evening for the Moonlight Mile footrace along the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. That was twice the number of people expected to participate in the race. "We just had no idea it would be that big," said Bragg Jam board member Chris Horne. "It was a huge turnout." The race grossed at least $4,100 through registration fees, he said. About $3,000 will be donated to further development of the heritage trail, which is overseen by the city and NewTown Macon.
