Lurking in the tabloids yesterday (Sunday) was an article that suggested that William Gallas was wanted by Barcelona and Paris St Germain. Whilst the article didn't actually imply there was much chance of Arsenal selling, even though they are now a selling club, the article left me transfixed with the following running through my head. If Gallas was put on the market, would Chelsea be interested in signing him, or more importantly would the supporters welcome him back. At the age of thirty one Gallas is no spring chicken, indeed his age would contradict the transfer policy suggested by Peter Kenyon whereby Chelsea would not sign anybody approaching the twilight of their careers but would concentrate on youth.
