Rooney on trial at ICT

A STRIKER called Rooney has joined Caley Thistle on their week-long trip to Denmark. Although it's clearly not the Manchester United and England ace Wayne, ICT boss Craig Brewster will hope his trialist hits the goal trail like his more famous namesake. With Romanian internationalist Marius Niculae given permission to return home to spend time with his new wife and family for seven days, the door is open for the Republic of Ireland under-21 forward to win a deal. Rooney, who has two caps for his country, was on loan at League Two side Bury last season and he scored three times in 16 games.
