Spinners Shutout ValleyCats in Rain Shortened Game

07/20/08 - New York-Penn League (NYPL) • Discuss this story on the New York-Penn League message board... TROY, N.Y.- In a rain shortened game on Sunday at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, the Tri-City ValleyCats were defeated 9-0 by the Lowell Spinners. The game lasted six and a half innings before being called on account of lightning and heavy precipitation. Spinners' pitcher Brock Huntzinger tossed a six inning one-hit shutout performance against the ValleyCats on Sunday. The only hit the right-hander surrendered was a double to 'Cats third baseman David Flores in the bottom of the second inning. However, Huntzinger was able to get around the hit without allowing a run to score.
