PRATO NEVOSO, Italy -- Australian cycling fans experienced the highs and lows of the Tour de France on Sunday with Cadel Evans losing the race's overall lead shortly after fellow Aussie Simon Gerrans had won a compelling 15th stage. Gerrans hopes such drama will raise cycling's profile back home. Having won the hilltop finish as the race headed into Italy, the 28-year-old Gerrans believes more people in Australia -- where rugby and cricket are the dominant sports -- will watch TV coverage of the race. "The sport in Australia is growing and growing. To have a contender with a real chance of winning the Tour de France is amazing," said Gerrans, who got his first stage win in his fourth Tour.
