Months after the Churchill County School District shaved $2.2 million from its budget following a state mandate, it now has been told to cut another $910,000. Student allotment funding decreased by a little more than $500,000, while instructional supplies, such as textbooks — totaling more than $400,000 — has been cut from the new budget Gov. Jim Gibbons is creating. The school board is considering using its entire $400,000 contingency fund, and another $65,000 from its rainy day fund, to cover some of the additional cuts.
