Jul. 20--LODI -- Stockton astronaut Jose Hernandez is back in Houston, training for his first shuttle mission next year. Last week, NASA named the 45-year-old graduate of Franklin High School and University of the Pacific's engineering school to the crew of the shuttle Atlantis, which is scheduled to blast off July 30, 2009, and deliver science equipment and storage racks to the International Space Station. "I feel very excited," Hernandez said. "I have had 12 months of mission specialist training. It'll be a challenge, but I'm looking forward to it."
