Police in Christchurch have major concerns over what they are calling a random shooting in the central city early this morning. Police were called following reports two men had fired a shot at a moving car from their own car at around quarter to one. Two 17-year-olds have been arrested after a shot was fired from one car at another which had four people inside. Detective Sergeant Tony Hill says the two parties did not know each other, but had an altercation shortly before the shot was fired. He says the bullet went through the windscreen but somehow avoided the car's occupants. Mr Hill says police would also like to speak to the occupants of a green BMW who are thought to have had an altercation with the arrested men earlier in the night.
