Members of Gateway High School's football team rebounded from a triple-overtime loss in the first round to produce five consecutive victories last week at the first Nike 7ON tournament in Beaverton, Ore. The event, an elite 7-on-7 passing tournament, attracted athletes from eight of the nation's premier high school football teams. Tampa (Fla.) Plant, behind two second-half touchdown passes from tournament MVP Aaron Murray, won the championship with a 30-14 victory over Henry County (Ga.), a team that previously lost to Gateway, 30-0. Gateway, after a 21-20 triple-OT loss to Long Beach Poly (Calif.), finished the tournament with a 5-1 record.
