Deputies: Teen Opens Fire in Pharmacy

Updated Saturday, July 19, 2008 ; 10:53 PM The sheriff caught the suspect fleeing the scene. HINTON -- A teenager is behind bars after opening fire in a Summers County pharmacy. And, it was the county's Sheriff who was able to apprehend the suspect. Summers County Sheriff Garry Wheeler says 18-year-old Jermaine Smith entered the Big Four Drug Store Friday evening on Third and Temple Street in Hinton. The sheriff says Smith fired a single shot and ordered the pharmacist to give him drugs and money. The sheriff's department is right around the corner from the pharmacy.
