Associated Press - July 19, 2008 5:04 PM ET GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - Irvin Hutchison, a well-known Chester newsman, has died of natural causes. He was 85. Hutchison owned and operated the Liberty County Times in Chester for more than 40 years after he and local businessman Darby O'Brien bought the newspaper in 1946. Before selling the paper in 1985, Hutchison penned a weekly column for the Times that featured his views on faith, politics and other topics. Paul Overlie, current Times publisher and editor, says Hutchison was "very open and honest" and loved the newspaper business. His roles at the paper ranged from maintenance man to advertising salesman. According to his obituary, Hutchison was born in Chester in 1923 and graduated from Chester High School in 1945.
