United Nations General Assembly President holds talks with top Vietnamese official Srgjan Kerim (left) and Viet Nam Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem 18 July 2008 - Climate change, the global food and energy crisis, economic development and United Nations reform were among the highlights of wide-ranging discussions between General Assembly President Srgjan Kerim and Viet Nams Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem. Mr. Kerim briefed Mr. Pham on the priority issues of the Assemblys current session, particularly climate change, development and UN reform, according to a statement issued by the Presidents spokesperson after the two men met yesterday in New York. Mr. Kerim and Mr. Pham, who is also Viet Nams Deputy Prime Minister, also discussed the impact of soaring food and fuel prices on economies around the world. They also discussed...
