Grantville group opposes proposal

Plan would steer funding to trolley SAN DIEGO – A vocal contingent of Grantville businessmen and residents has long opposed the city's decision to turn its community into a redevelopment area. Now the group is alarmed by a proposal to end a lawsuit filed by San Diego County against the city three years ago. The plan would result in more than $60 million in improvements to two downtown projects, with half the money coming from future tax proceeds generated in Grantville. The Centre City Development Corp. board, which manages downtown growth plans for San Diego's Redevelopment Agency, approved the agreement in an advisory vote taken Wednesday.
