Samantha Stosur has been knocked out of the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford at the quarter-final stage. Stosur lost to Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak 6-2 5-7 6-4 in an epic three-setter that went over two hours. Wozniak won the match by having a superior service game with 58 percent of her first serves going in and winning 69 percent of points played on her first serve. In other results, No.1 seed Serena Williams routed No.5 Patti Schnyder 6-3 6-1 and sixth seed Marion Bartoli accounted for Russian Anna Chakvetadze 6-3 6-4.
