By HOTSPUR (J A McGrath) Kerrin McEvoy, chosen four years ago as the likely successor to Frankie Dettori in the lucrative job as first jockey to Godolphin, could be lured back to his native Australia to take up one of the biggest riding appointments there. Darley Australia, part of Sheikh Mohammed's global racing and breeding operation, have been looking for a stable jockey since their £240 million purchase of Woodlands Stud from leading owner-breeder Bob Ingham earlier this year. An assortment of top local riders, including Darren Beadman, Corey Brown and Danny Nikolic, have all been tipped, in turn, to fill the vacancy, following the successful buy-out of this huge bloodstock empire that has played a dominant role in Australian racing for nearly two decades.
