Sherman named CEO of Hudson’s Bay Company

Knell -- Furniture Today, 7/18/2008 7:10:00 AM Former Polo division president is veteran retailer TORONTO — Veteran U.S. retail executive Jeffrey Sherman has been named CEO of the Hudson’s Bay Company, the first strategic management change by the iconic Canadian retailer’s new owners. Richard Baker, who became governor of HBC when his investment company, NRDC Equity Partners, acquired the Canadian company earlier this week, announced Sherman’s hiring Thursday. Two weeks ago, Sherman retired as president and chief operating officer of the Polo Retail Group, the merchandising arm of Polo Ralph Lauren.
