"The Sopranos'" Michael Imperioli said he had a tough time deciding on a new project before signing on to ABC's "Life on Mars." "I definitely was picky," Imperioli told members of the Television Critics Association. "Something like 'The Sopranos,' that fulfills your creative drive for such a long period of time and challenges you, is a hard act to follow." ABC recently moved the production of "Mars" to New York. The show's first pilot, produced by David E. Kelley, was set in Los Angeles, but with "October Road" executive producers Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec now at the helm, the 1970s-set cop drama, based on the BBC series of the same name, will be taking advantage of the city's new local and state tax credits.
