Associated Press - July 17, 2008 11:35 AM ET CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Sen. John Barrasso has rolled out a new campaign tactic in Wyoming politics - large-scale conference calls with Wyoming voters. Wyoming residents are called at random and asked to take part in live conference calls called "town forums" or "town hall sessions." Some of those who are called get an opportunity to ask Barrasso a question, and Barrasso answers those questions live on the call. Barrasso spokesman Greg Keeley says the conference calls take place about once a month. Barrasso was appointed last year after the death of Sen. Craig Thomas. He is now running for election to the seat. Two Democrats also are running, Gillette attorney Nick Carter and former state Sen. Keith Goodenough (GOOD'-enough) of Casper.
