Well, that and the giant chrome rooster. More on the bird below. It's easy to forget that developer Paul Petrovich included a memorial plaza in his first plans for the center. That's because it was a dozen years ago – before 9/11 and the latest war in Iraq. Paul hopes to dedicate the Fair Oaks memorial on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, a couple of weeks after Safeway opens.
