Click the play button on the video window to the right to see the story Armed with a 2,000 degree blowtorch, Chad Nelson walks up to a square piece of plywood promising the wood won't catch fire or even burn. Nelson is the manager of a company called Thermo-Gel aimed at protecting homes from fires. Thermo-Gel is made of 99.5 percent water, has a consistency of hand lotion and comes in a one gallon container that connects to a garden hose. "Thermo-Gel is made with polymers that are microscopic chains designed to hold several hundred time their weight," said Nelson while holding the blow torch up against a single pane of glass sprayed with his product.
