You know it’s summer in the Tri-State when the National Weather Service meteorologist says: “Those southeasterly winds are going to be shifting from the southwest tomorrow, increasing the humidity.â€_ But other than conditions becoming stickier, the outlook is good for area residents planning weekend picnics, baseball games or visits to theme parks and race tracks. Christine Wielgos, of the weather service’s Paducah, Ky., office, said highs will be in the low 90s through the weekend, with lows tonight in the mid 60s, increasing to the upper 60s and lower 70s by the end of the weekend. The chance of showers will increase early next week as a front approaches, but Wielgos said the front could stall or wash out. “It’s really a challenge figuring out where fronts will set up in this four-state region of the country,â€_...
