Brown beasts wow Perry crowd with talents By KATHY THOMPSON • Staff Writer • July 17, 2008 NEW LEXINGTON - Even though the weather was almost unbearably warm, it didn't seem to stop five Syrian bears from performing for about 100 children at the Perry County Fair Wednesday. Giza, Nanook, Tutter, Zuzu and Nemo showed that they are not only good at eating the treats offered them by owner and trainer, Tepa Hall, her husband, James, and daughter, Elaine, but that they are proficient at riding a bicycle, playing basketball, walking on their front paws and dancing. The bears are with The Bear's Den Habitat, owned by the Halls and are located outside Plano, Texas, when they aren't on the road entertaining.
