NASSCOM, the premier trade body representing the Indian IT-BPO industry, today announced that it has set up the Eastern Region Council in Kolkata, and that the Council convened for its first meeting on July 10th at Kolkata. Led by Mr. V.V.R Babu of ITC, the council is currently represented by 12 member companies from Kolkata and Eastern Region. NASSCOM has, for the first time set up Regional Councils across the country to specifically focus on issues, which are unique to regions. The ERC is the first such council to be formed.
