Olive farmers killed in lightning strike

A married couple from Peñalsordo (Badajoz) were killed this morning by a lightning strike in an olive grove in nearby Zarza Capilla. Francisco Paz Rodríguez (35) and Herminia Díaz García (36) were struck between 9.30-10am as they were clearing new buds from the bottoms of the trees on the 'Pogasil' farm as part of normal pre-harvest preparations. They leave behind two young children.
