Akos Konya of Oceanside placed second in the 135-mile Badwater Ultramarathon yesterday, the third year in a row the Hungarian native has finished runner-up in the endurance event. Los Angeles' Jorge Pacheco won the 31st annual race in 23 hours, 20 minutes, 16 seconds. Konya, 33, finished almost half an hour back, in 23:49:44. David Goggins of Chula Vista, who took third last year, dropped out after 42 miles. Goggins could not be reached for comment. “It seemed to me like he never was quite in it,” Badwater spokesman Paul Skilbeck said. Jamie Donaldson of Littleton, Colo., won the women's race in 26:51:33, shattering the six-year-old record by 65 minutes. Pacheco began pulling away at about 30 miles and never relinquished the lead.
