Jul 16 2008 by Our Correspondent, South Wales Echo REIGNING champions Cardiff III won the only game played in Division One of the Thomas, Carroll Welsh Club Cricket Conference when they easily accounted for St Fagans in their local derby at the Diamond Ground. Adam Markham-Jones made 85 and Steve Clarke 52 as Cardiff racked up 276-5 after batting first. Mark Lewis (41) and Clive Franklin (36) tried hard for the Saints but they could only manage 151-5 in their reply and remain winless at the bottom of the table. Newbridge, Tredegar and Abercarn all won their games in Division Two as the promotion race warmed up despite many cancellations caused by the bad weather.
