Today the very charismatic French President Nicolas Sarkozy is revitalizing the stagnant EuroMed process by promoting a Mediterranean Union where all of the inhabitants would live together in peace and political stability. With the Barcelona Treaty in 1995, Trieste in 1996, Athens in 2003, lots of progress has been accomplished, but still not enough. Lots of significant challenges are still ahead. Stability, peace and economic development of the whole Mediterranean basin need this push by the French presidency for this achievable dream.
