Carrier joins trend in fight against fuel prices; affects inter-island trips PHOENIX - Passengers of go! airlines in Hawaii will soon be charged a $10 fee to check a bag for inter-island trips. Phoenix-based Mesa Air Group Inc., go!'s parent company, said Tuesday it is joining several other carriers charging for checked bags. Officials say the airline needs to find other sources of revenue to deal with a spike in fuel prices. The bag fee will start Aug. 10.
