Countrywoman Bartoli also in field By Dustin Dow • ddow@enquirer.com • July 15, 2008 MASON - Amelie Mauresmo, a former world No. 1 who has won two Grand Slams, and fellow French countrywoman Marion Bartoli will headline the 2008 Western & Southern Financial Group Women's Open Field, which must contend with the Summer Olympics in its effort to attract top players to Mason. The Women's Open, scheduled for Aug. 9-17, is being held concurrently with the Beijing Games. As it turns out, the Women's Open placement on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour schedule - opposite the Olympics - helped the tournament land Mauresmo, who is not part of France's Olympic team.
