Cricket touring season commences

The Cricket touring season recommenced this past week with the local Marsa C.C taking on returning Stockport Grammar School who were on their eighth tour to Malta. On Wednesday Stockport won the toss and elected to bat. Tom Isherwood and Oliver Hemlin scoring 109 and 100 not out respectively. Two great batting displays which took the visitors to an outstanding score of 270 from their forty overs. For Marsa Kevin Krishna and Tim Wheeler were the only wicket takers with one a piece. The home teams reply was disappointing with only Steve Johnson (thirty six runs) and Malcolm Crab (twenty three runs) making over twenty runs. The home team was bowled out for 139 runs.
