Jesse Ventura, the former professional wrestler and successful Reform Party candidate for governor of Minnesota, is thinking of entering the U.S. Senate race against incumbent Republican Norm Coleman as well as Democratic nominee Al Franken. He has to decide by tomorrow, July 15, since that’s the deadline for filing for the race. Ventura told David Welna of National Public Radio that his main reason for running would be Coleman’s support for the war in Iraq. A recent state poll showed Coleman getting 41% of the vote, Franken 31%, and Ventura 23%. This entry was posted by TPW News Items on Monday, July 14th, 2008 at 6:25 am and is filed under .
