Wie returns to Corning Classic, Wilson shoots 68

by Lanaly Cabalo - The Garden Island Honolulu’s Michelle Wie bogeyed her first hole but saved her score with a birdie on the second and carded in a steady 1-under 70 yesterday in the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, in Ohio. She was even almost all through her front nine and heading into the final hole. A last-effort birdie putt put her on the leaderboard among the long list who shot 70. Wie, who last played this tournament when she was 13 years old, received a sponsor’s exemption to play this year. Four days after tying for third at the At&T National, Kane‘ohe’s Dean Wilson turned in a scattered scorecard for Round 1 of the John Deere Classic in Illinois.
