UVF leader and special Branch informer Mark Haddock is to undergo a risk assessment to decide whether he qualifies for home leave from prison. It follows his bid in the High Court in Belfast on Tuesday to stop the media reporting anything about him on his release from jail next year. Haddock, who was previously named in court as a leading member of the UVF, is due to be freed in January after serving a 10 year sentence for attacking a nightclub doorman He is already making preparations to change his name by deed poll. Haddock is also trying to ban the media from disclosing his new identity and whereabouts.
