Geninho out after six games

Campeonato Brasileiro outfit Botafogo have sacked coach Geninho after just six games in charge. Geninho, whose full name is Eugenio Machado Souto, only joined Geninho on June 1 but was sacked following a 5-2 defeat by second-placed Vitoria. Botafogo currently sit 16th in the Campeonato Brasileiro, 12 points adrift of leaders Flamengo, after Geninho recorded two wins, one draw and three defeats in his brief spell in charge. Vitoria's Vagner Mancini, Figueirense's Paulo Cesar Gusmao and Coritiba's Dorival Junior are reported to be the leading candidates to replace Geninho. "We have not decided on the name of the new coach yet.
