Chinese media lavished coverage Thursday on President Hu Jintao's attendance at the just-concluded G-8 summit in Japan, in what appears to be part of a drive to boost his profile before next month's Beijing Olympics. Hu's trip to Hokkaido was a "major diplomatic move which produces important achievements in many aspects," the official Xinhua News Agency and newspapers reported Thursday, quoting Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
