Uganda: No More Kony Talks - Minister

Posted to the web 10 July 2008 Anne Mugisa Kampala There are no more talks between the Government and the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels, defence state minister Ruth Nankabirwa has said. She said all that was left was for the LRA leader, Joseph Kony, to append his signature to the agreement. "All we are waiting for are the signatures from the major parties involved. It is now up to the chief mediator to get in touch with Kony and he signs," Nankabirwa said as she received 200 computers donated by the Chinese defence forces to the UPDF. The computers worth sh300m were handed over at the defence ministry headquarters on Mbuya Hill, Kampala by the Chinese charge d' affaires, Elian Wang Ze-Ehan.
