Czech doctors complete first laparoscopic surgery in Ghana

By ČTK / Published 10 July 2008 Takoradi, Ghana/Ostrava, North Moravia, July 9 (CTK) - A team of Czech doctors accomplished the first ever laparoscopic surgery in Ghana Wednesday, the six-member team's spokeswoman Dorota Havlikova told CTK. The doctors from the hospital in Novy Jicin, north Moravia, arrived for a two-week humanitarian mission in Takoradi on Friday. They have already received the impatiently awaited consignment with medical material, including the crucial device that is necessary for laparoscopic surgeries. Havlikova said.
