NEW YORK - New Jersey Devils centre John Madden was named a finalist for the Frank Selke Trophy for a fourth time Friday, along with Detroit Red Wings forwards Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. The award is given to the forward "who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game." Madden captured the award in 2000-01 and was runner-up in '02-03 and '03-04. This season, he led Devils forwards in short-handed goals (three), average ice time per game (19:26) and average short-handed minutes per game (3:35). He ranked seventh among NHL forwards in face-offs taken with 1,463 and posted a 53.7 per cent winning percentage.
