Partners decide to go separate ways in trek Robert Williams has nicknamed his cross-country walk “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” “I’ve met a lot of good people, the conditions get pretty bad, and I’m ugly,” the former barber joked. Mr. Williams and fellow walker Bob Genese, both of Worcester, departed Hinckley, Utah, on June 20 and took two weeks to cross the state on foot. After arriving in Denver Sunday night, Mr. Williams was looking forward to a shower at a friend’s house and shaving off his Forrest Gump-like beard of two months’ growth. The two began their 3,000-mile walk May 20 in San Francisco and plan to arrive in Washington, D.C., in December. “I look a little rough now and people are starting to look at me funny,” he said. “With the backpack, stroller and big beard, I look homeless.” Mr. Williams will have time to...
