NEW YORK—One month after National Cancer Survivor Day, Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz (D-45th) presented New York State Assembly resolutions to a pair of cancer survivors. The resolution was to commemorate their strength and resolve in defeating a disease that claims the lives of more than half a million Americans each year. The awarding of the resolution corresponded with the celebration of Cancer Survivors Day, which is celebrated in the United States on the first Sunday of June. Cancer Survivors Day, according to its website, is an international "Celebration of Life" to "show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be reality."
