Posted to the web 9 July 2008 Ndola SEVEN people including a baby died in separate accidents during the long weekend while a man committed suicide by throwing himself into a river. Acting police service spokesperson Chrispin Kapela confirmed the deaths of the seven pedestrians who were knocked down by vehicles in Lusaka, Ndola, Chipata and Solwezi. Lusaka recorded four deaths. Mr Kapela said in an interview in Lusaka that a man was on Monday hit by an unidentified vehicle near Shimabala on the Kafue Road around 18:10 hours. He said on Sunda y, a Toyota Hiace knocked down a man aged between 25 and 30 years who died on the spot. Along Lumumba and Los Angeles junction, a Toyota Sprinter registration number ABK 9863 hit a man who died on the way to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
