Kittery may see school plan on Nov. ballot KITTERY, Maine — The School Committee voted Tuesday to start the process that will ultimately leave the community with just three schools and begin notifying the state of the town's intention to close the Frisbee School. The vote was nowhere near unanimous, however. Committee members William Furbish, David Batchelder and Kim Bedard voted in opposition to the motion put forth by Chairman Jeff Pelletier. It passed 4-3. "This is not only the most feasible option, but also the most educationally sound," Pelletier said. "We have a huge amount of infrastructure and it is a drain. "Every dollar we spend on infrastructure for a building that it has been shown we can do without decreases the amount we can spend on education," the chairman said.
