State Rep. Maier won't seek re-election

The News Journal • July 9, 2008 Rep. Pamela Maier, R-Drummond Hill, has announced she will not seek re-election. Maier said her husband accepted a new job in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she will be closer to her two sons, who are attending college in the state. Maier said her family lived in Colorado for two years before moving to Delaware and have kept in touch with friends there. "I'm very grateful for the 14 years I had," Maier said. "I hope that they were pleased with my service." Maier said she has begun making contact with "good Republicans" as potential replacements for her 21st District seat. Maier said she will help work to ensure a Republican takes her seat because the margin of the majority in the House is so slim. "Delaware needs to have a two-party system work," she said.
