Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - It may be hot and humid now, but some senior citizens are already worrying about home heating costs this winter. The Ida Benderson Senior Center routinely brings in a National Grid representative to answer questions. The utility company won't have projections until the end of summer, but seniors are bracing for a sharp increase. Most are on fixed incomes, and say they're not getting any more money from the government. National Grid's Care and Share Energy Fund has more than twice the money this year than in previous years to help people in difficult financial situations.
