La Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen is extraordinary. Claude Monet painted La Cathédrale thirty times over the span of a single year in 1890. My Weblog, La Flèche, is inspired by this holy landmark. From September 2006 to January 2007, I lived in Rouen, France. I was in France to teach English and therefore I'd rented an apartment, which happened to be situated on la Rue de la Republique, a busy cobblestone street, surrounded by the juxtaposition of half-timbered medieval architecture and the Gaumont, a modern movieplex. I was stashed five-flights up, in an outwardly-bland building. However, once free from the creeping, musty elevator, I unlocked my door and voila! I lived in a penthouse.
