Published: July 2, 2008 at 3:13 PM EL CENTRO, Calif., July 2 (UPI) -- Witnesses say they saw two men pull up to a church in California's Imperial Valley and make off with its brass bell. A staff member at the First United Methodist Church in rural Imperial Valley says the 3-foot brass bell taken from the outdoor foyer Monday night would probably be sold as scrap. Crystal Reyes told the Imperial Valley Press that the bell had been salvaged from the church after a fire in 1962 and was placed on a cinderblock platform after the church was rebuilt.
